Wayne Memorial Hospital Welcomes its First Baby of 2014
Weighing
in at five pounds and eight ounces and measuring 19.5 inches long, Baby Sara
Kay Mallardwas born at 11:14 p.m. on January 1. As luck would have it, the digits of her birth date, 1/1/14, match the time of her birth exactly, 11:14 p.m. She is the first baby born in 2014 at Wayne Memorial. Pictured here are mother Jody and father Brett with Sara. She is welcomed home by an older sister, Emma Kate Mallard, 19 months old. The Mallards thank Doctor Jeffrey Harris and Nurses Penny Jackson and Michelle Daniels for their help during Sara’s debut to the world.

Joyner Retires after 20 Years at Wayne Memorial

Anita Joyner retired after serving Wayne Memorial Hospital and the public for 20 years in the business office. At a reception held in her honor, Joyner stated she was looking forward to getting some rest, reading more, and sewing with her free time. Hospital Chief Executive Officer Joe Ierardi presented her with a certificate of recognition.
