Wayne Memorial Hospital Congratulates First Players of the Week of the Season

Wayne Memorial Hospital, whose mission is to provide high quality health care services to all patients, built a state-of-the-art facility in 2007. It is the fourth largest employer in Wayne County with 400 employees, 84 beds and is a Georgia Alliance of Community Hospitals Small Hospital of the Year.

St. Joseph’s/Candler Health System Donates $5,000 to Fire Fund set up by Jesup Downtown Development Authority

Our thoughts and prayers have been with all of those affected directly and indirectly by this terrible fire. We hope that this donation will help in the efforts to rebuild, ‘like it never happened.’ It’s the least we could do for the citizens of this wonderful community,” said Melissa Allen, Marketing Director of St. Joseph ’s/Candler Health System, after presenting a $5,000 donation last week. Allen drove to the scene of the fire to meet with Jesup City Manager Mike Deal and Chair of the Jesup Downtown Development Authority and Wayne Memorial Hospital CEO Joe Ierardi. Deal and Ierardi expressed their gratitude for St. Joseph’s/Candler’s generosity and deposited the $5,000 check into the Jesup DDA Fire Fund, a fund set aside to help the businesses and employees affected by the August 4 fire affecting 25% of the downtown Jesup area.

Prices will start at $5. Show specials include a free pair of earrings with any necklace purchase and a $50 giveaway in free jewelry. Cash, checks and credit cards are accepted. The public is welcome to stop by and meet with Gerard or simply browse. The show is a fundraiser for the hospital auxiliary, whose mission is to assist patients, their families and employees. In the past 12 months, The Auxiliary volunteered a total of 16,306 hours and donated $23,000 back to the hospital through fundraisers.
